Person Centred Counselling
What is Person Centred Counselling?
Person centred counselling is a therapeutic approach which aims to value a member’s experience in a non-judgemental and empathic way. A goal of person centred counselling is to aid the member to reach their full potential.
Person centred counselling neither specifically focuses on the past or present, instead it allows the member to turn the focus on what is important to them. A person centred practitioner takes a non-directive role and members are valued as the director and expert of their own experience. This type of counselling can be appropriate for both short term and long term counselling although in Stepping Stones we time limit sessions to around 12 per person.
